Ancient Himachal Pradesh/Uttaranchal, Bhanusharma, Fractional Copper, 2.37, Obv: Three arched hill and a human figure (partly seen), Brahmi legend “Rajno Bhanu…” below, Rev: Brahmi legend “Bhanu Sha….”. Very fine, very rare. Bhanusharma appears to have been from a group of rulers ruling a small kingdom to the West of Almora in the North East Haryana/South Himachal Pradesh/E Uttaranchal area. The coins are stylistically and paleographically dated to mid to late 2nd century AD and it is likely that the area seceded from Kushan rule after the reign of Huvishka.
