Domains of the Chhatrapatis of Satara, Silver Rupee, 11.50g, in the name of Muhammad Shah, struck during the reign of Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj (1708-1749), Satara Mint, RY 29, (Different than T1 listed by M&W). Complete Mint name on bottom of reverse. Very fine+, very rare.
So far, no coins of Satara mint struck very late in the reign of Shahu were known, although the mint appeared to be in action from archival information. This is the first such coin. The mint name Satara is spelled with an H at the end.
